Boris 'billiob' Faure
About me
Hi, I'm Boris Faure, aka billiob. I'm a 26 years old software engineer living in Paris, France.
You can consult here some of my works or take a look at my Curriculum Vitæ.
I'm actually working at Intersec.
Projects
Here are some projects I work on my free time:
You can also find other projects I contribute to on ohloh.net or on github.
Enlightenment
“Enlightenment is not just a window manager for Linux/X11 and others, but also a whole suite of libraries to help you create beautiful user interfaces with much less work than doing it the old fashioned way and fighting with traditional toolkits, not to mention a traditional window manager. It covers uses from small mobile devices like phones all the way to powerful multi-core desktops (which are the primary development environment).”
I have worked on some of the python bindings (mainly python-elementary) since they are used in aMSN2, but have hacked various bits on both the libraries and the window manager. I also wrote a tiling module for e17. My current involvement on enlightenment is focused on Terminology, a terminal emulator written with the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries.
aMSN
an open source IM client for the MSN network
written in tcl/tk
works on Linux, *BSD, MacOSX and Windows
got downloaded more than 40 millions times
translated in many languages
…
aMSN2
a complete rewrite of aMSN the open source IM client for the MSN network
written in Python
based on a multi-frontend approch to be able to run it everywhere. It currently has Gtk, Qt4, EFL, Curses, Cocoa and Web frontends
code occurs on github
but no release yet, so feel free to fork it and help us!!
I'm now the leader on the project and the main developer on the EFL frontend, which explains my involvement in the Enlightenment project.
